We invite you to explore and to learn about the work and life of Tom Wales, and about the mission and activities of the Foundation.

Opportunity
In a broad sense, the Foundation was established with two simple goals: first, to support the memory of Tom Wales as an inspiration to others, and second, to do good things in the spirit of Tom’s own example.

The Foundation really represents an opportunity, or a collection of opportunities. It is an opportunity to help our communities. It is an opportunity to connect people who have the desire and means to do good, with the activities and programs worthy of their contributions and interest. It is an opportunity for people already engaged in the improvement of their towns and neighborhoods to receive the help they need to further those goals.

Lots of ways you can participate
You may know someone in your community who is the very embodiment of tireless, inspirational, community-building leadership. Nominate them for the Thomas C. Wales Award for Passionate Citizenship. (Nominations for 2007 are closed, but keep your candidate in mind for 2008. The nomination process begins each year in the summer.)

You may be interested in the open-minded debate of public policy issues. Find out about our symposia or contribute your own suggestions for topics and speakers.

You may want to contribute to the Foundation, either financially, or with your time, expertise or ideas. (For information on how to help, click here.)

If you haven’t yet become involved in your community, we want to help you to do so. Get off the sidelines and into the game (as Tom would have said).
